President of Donaghadee Male Voice Choir

Lady Hermon

Message from choir President Lady Hermon June 2020

To all members
As you will know from previous Annual General Meetings, I really enjoy attending them because I hear all the news about the Choir’s past year of activities and its plans for the future.
It is, therefore, a matter of real regret for me that we are not able to have an AGM in 2020.  However, the current lockdown restrictions on account of Covid-19 make the holding of our AGM impossible. So, I shall miss seeing everyone and also miss the banter in between the formal reports from individual Committee members, but we will definitely make up for these losses at next year’s AGM. It is my intention to supply the tea, coffee and buns for that meeting.

In the meantime, I should like to take this opportunity to thank most sincerely the current members of the Committee who have very kindly agreed to continue in their respective roles until the AGM in 2021. I am extremely grateful to each of them for doing so and thereby giving continuity to the Choir through these difficult and strange times.
But, we will get through the challenges posed by Covid-19 and the Donaghadee Male Voice Choir will meet again on the far side of this awful virus.
I have every confidence members of DMVC will be able to come together again to practise and perform publicly. Your Choir, the Choir of which I am enormously proud, will give audiences great pleasure again with brilliant performances… and “The Rose” will be sung beautifully again like no other choir can sing it.
Warmest good wishes,
Sylvia H.

Musical Director

Emma Morgan

September 2021. We are delighted to announce that Emma Morgan has been appointed as our new Musical Director. Emma hails from Donaghadee and will be starting with the choir when we return to our new season after many months of disruption. You can read more about Emma in our “About Us”  section.

Stuart Tanner

Stuart joined our ranks early in 2019 and really enjoyed his first trip away with the choir to Budapest in April.  A true character and an asset to the choir.
