President of Donaghadee Male Voice Choir
Lady Hermon MP
Message from choir President Lady Hermon June 2018
“To everyone in the choir I express my deepest gratitude for your performances at home and abroad this year. Your continued support for local charities throughout the year is once again outstanding and a credit to you all. I wish the incoming committee and the choir every success for the incoming season.
There is no greater ambassador for Donaghadee and Northern Ireland than this wonderful choir, and I wish to repeat my pride and honour to be its President.”

At the recent 2018 AGM of the choir, Musical Director Ivan Black reported:
“Last season was a varied and successful one for the choir. There were many memorable engagements and it would be unfair to single out any in particular, but I must highlight our Annual Concert in a packed Aurora Centre in Bangor where we were so well-supported by the Donaghadee Community Choir, Ballyholme Primary School Choir and Gillian McCutcheon, all compered by George Jones.
I must however also mention the wonderful choir trips to Warsaw in October 2017, and our recent visit in April to Croatia and Slovenia this year. As always choir trips are an absolute success, and these two proved that the comradeship and enjoyment, allied to singing at the wide range of concert venues are something to experience and remember. We sang in some magnificent cathedrals and churches, to very appreciative audiences, and we can never forget the experience of singing in the caves at Postojna in Slovenia, and the impromptu performance in the Roman amphitheatre in Pula!!
I wish to pay tribute to all those who work away behind the scenes to organise our engagements and trips to ensure that the future of Donaghadee Male Voice Choir is secure, and I look forward with anticipation and excitement to the in-coming season.”
Stuart joined our ranks earlier this year and is looking forward to his first trip away with the choir to Budapest in April 2019.
